Ode to the Fancy Goldfish

OR
My Final Response to~
"Humane?, Are these specialites (sic) humane for the fish?"

Some online goldfish forums are quite inane
They ask if keeping fancies is considered humane?

Such queries make me so forlorn,
Especially when equated to kiddie porn. [No, I'm NOT kidding.]

They say all mutations are defective genes,
When in reality these writers are stuffed full of beans.

They boast and they brag and state their credentials,
But it seems like they're lacking some basic essentials.
[Spell Check would be one.]

The topic just seems to drag on and on,
While the moderators also are hemmin' and hawin'.

Ignore DNA and any future potential,
Get rid of them all, remove the differential.

No more Bubble Eyes, Pearlies, Moors or Jello Heads,
Nix Celestials and Ranchus--just keep PLAIN ones instead.

Double Bubble Eyes are the ultimate sin.
We can't tell if the water is going out or in.

Don't dare buy a Lionhead for the nephew or niece,
Or you'll be hunted down by the goldfish police.

Do you think that we will be read the Miranda?
When the thread starter can't even define an Oranda?

We can only wonder if PETA is their objective?
This poem is written from the Cinderella perspective.
[I.E. If the shoe fits . . .]
